Issues in Western Civilization:  Classification:  SS

This course will focus on cross-cultural similarities and differences regarding a wide variety of western cultures. An emphasis is put on understanding and respecting cultural differences as seen in the western hemisphere. The following elements are particularly important in the study: Family and kinship, economics, government, religion, language, personality, and art. There is also recognition of the importance of the past as it has influenced culture.
