Introduction to Sociology:  Classifications:  SS or SC

Sociology is the study of social life. It may include learning about social change and the social causes, as well as the consequences of human behavior. Sociology may cover a wide range of social institutions, from the largest to the smallest institutions: from culture, policy, and economy; to pinpointed groups such as family, peers, school, classroom, or even church, workplace, and the media. Then there is the smallest of all sociological concepts -- the personal relationship we all have with important others in our lives. This course will offer an overview of how these relate to and influence the life of the student.
