This course is designed to be a career awareness course. Allied health providers work to make sick or injured people healthy and keep them healthy. There are hundreds of allied health professions and millions of people employed in allied health jobs. That means that most people in healthcare are not physicians or nurses. Health occupations include, but are not limited to: chiropractic care, cosmetology, dentistry, emergency medical technology, lab technology, massage therapy, medical assistant, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, podiatry, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, optometry, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, and more.
